What if everything you want and need is right in front of you, but you just can’t see it? What if creating the life you want is as simple as seeing who you are, who you ‘ve always been, and becoming more of that because it actually is who you long to be?

Rainbow breaks through rain clouds at Take Command Event in Monterey, CA

I just woke up to this as the biggest “Ah-ha” moment of my life. Two weeks ago, as I sat around a table in the top floor conference room of the Monterey Bay Marriot with like-minded strangers wanting to learn more about visionary entrepreneurship, a switch flipped. I had a breakthrough. This was something the “Take Command Event” leader, Maggie Ostara was telling us was possible.

“You can have a breakthrough today! Just be open to it,” she said. “Your expertise comes from your life experience. Your authority and success come from the embodiment of your value.”

I didn’t really know what she meant by “breakthrough,” but I knew I wanted one. I was experiencing my life the same way I was experiencing the weather right outside the window. Gray. Foggy. Unclear with sudden and frequent burst of rain, and outright downpours on the days I woke up asking myself, “What are you doing?!” This doubt, confusion, and lack of clarity has been with me most of my life. It is what keeps me from seeing me—who I am, what I do, and what I have to offer.

But something happened. An alignment took place. The light shifted, and all of a sudden I could see the full spectrum of who I am, what I’ve done, what I am doing, what I want to do, and what I have to give. It all came together, the inner story merged with the outer one. And I’m calling it WRITE IN POWER™.

Writing is a practice that brings energy into form, thought into words. It is creation. For me, it has been the way I access what my heart and mind long to express. When you write, you align with an inner power, a mysterious intelligence that births the worlds, characters, and nuggets of wisdom that are rooted deep in the fabric of your particular life. When you write, who you are becomes an act of co-creation—your invisible inner source merges with the world of form and something new is born. This is what it means to create. And anyone who has ever created something born from inspiration knows that with it comes joy.

What arises when you write might be a book, or the first line of a poem, or several pages of journal scribble. Or maybe all that emerges is the desire to write. The desire to create, to express through words, something that embodies the immeasurable you. Whatever comes has within it the power to open your life and expand how you experience yourself. It holds the key to getting one step closer, one word deeper in to the story that your unique life wants to tell.

The story my life has been wanting to tell is the story of home.  It is the story that led me to buy a subscription to HOME Magazine with my allowance when I was nine. It is the story that built a house, by hand, in Jackson, WY when I was 23. It is the story that peeled me off the kitchen floor of a dilapidated rental I moved into after I lost my house to foreclosure in 2009. It is the story of my search for safety, for belonging, for being enough to keep my chronically ill mother alive.

Writing allowed me to become intimate with this story. It helped me discover that who I am and what I do is home. I embody home. I always have and I always will.

What is the story your life is yearning to tell? Are you being called to give voice to something that is not fully formed but that you feel growing inside you? Do you want more joy, connection, deeper meaning, or simply that job, income, relationship, or thing that seems to keep evading you?

Is the white space of your life longing for ink?

Giving ink to what lives within you, as well as the outer life you’ve lived to this point, is a direct pathway to getting clear on who you are, where you are, how you got here, and where you want to go. It is the gateway, the threshold you will walk through to get to the life your heart longs for.

I want to help you get there. I want to support you on your journey home to yourself. I want you to WRITE IN POWER™. To write your way into the authority of your life. This is what my life story has told me. I am now clear on that. Clear as the bright rainbow that appeared out the window of the Marriot conference room. All that was needed to see the brilliance hidden in the dense, gray clouds was a little shift of light.
