I was on Facebook live yesterday for Whimsical Wednesday sharing a breakthrough I am currently having (yes, still having–I’m in the “breaking” part of the breakthrough) around what it means to live in flow on and off the page. I shared my 4 Steps for Living in FLOW.

My breakthrough last week was around a new high level client. I was clear how I could serve my client and my client got the value too. Then at the end of our call, I felt the need to add another resource. I also explained again what would happen first and what to expect. And then, I checked-in one more time to make sure my client was excited. When I got off the phone I felt “off.” I felt depleted and like I’d done something wrong. The whole rest of my week felt like that too.
When I talked to my coach, I realized that underneath this all was a feeling of BETRAYAL connected to a life-long pattern of giving myself away in order to feel worthy of love.
My coach asked me: What do you need to forgive?
As I started to explore that, I was amazed to see how the theme of forgiveness had been appearing all week long, I just didn’t see it until he asked me the question. It was like all the feelings, events, interactions, and encounters of my week clicked together and said, “Yes, that’s what we’ve been trying to ask you all along…”
When I wrote into it (using my own Power of the Word exercise) the word that arose was resistance.
That’s why the Whimsical Word for yesterday was: Resistance
Click here to watch the video and hear more about resistance and how it blocks your FLOW.
Resistance is what stops the flow of your life-force, your creativity, your writing.
What I learned is that forgiveness isn’t just something you give to yourself or to another person. Forgiveness is a state of being.
Forgiveness is to offer no resistance to life. Forgiveness is to allow your life to live through you.
This realization is what is breaking me open. What would become possible? What could I create if I offered no resistance to life? No resistance to past, present, future, person, place, or thing?
WOW! The thought of that BLEW MY MIND! (And believe me, as an over-thinker, my mind can use all the blowing it can get!) The feeling of it, BROKE ME OPEN.
Forgiveness is the heart of what it means to be in FLOW and CREATE on and off the page!
I’ve broken this down into 4-Steps to Living in FLOW:
1). Find your resistance
2). Let the pain in
3). Open to forgiveness—become the energy of forgiveness
4). Wake up to the miracle of your Creativity
You can find out more about what each of these mean and how they can work for you on the video here.
The truth is, you already know what flow is. You’ve felt it. You know when you have it. In fact you’ve likely had a lot of it because you are a seeker, a creative, someone who has lots of ideas, visions, knows how to get stuff done, and has even invested time and money into workshops, retreats, and other support because you know you are your own worst enemy. You know you need someone to help guide you out of your own way so you can create what you are here to create.
You know FLOW and you CRAVE it!
And the reality is, you probably spend MORE time getting other people into flow than you do for yourself! Are you the person others come to for support, advice, fun, inspiration? Those people come to you because you’ve experienced FLOW and they want what you’ve got.
FLOW is contagious, addictive. It is the very state of who we are, that’s why we all crave it.
What would become possible if you lived in flow?
If you were to offer no resistance to past, present, future, person, place or thing?
What could you create if you offered NO resistance to the current of your life?
Get out your notebook, or open a new document, answer these questions and shift your writing from something that you don’t have time for to something that supports your clarity, truth, and gets you into the FLOW of who you already are!
