The Role of Your Voice & Story

in Recreating our World

A Story Reading & Conscious Conversation with Samantha Wallen & Debs de Vries

 December 3, 2020

11:00 am Pacific Time via Zoom

Please join us for a story reading and conversation that lives at the edge of the visible and invisible world and tends to the ways writing can support our past, present, and future selves.

What really happens when you write, and then voice, your story as a means of renewal and re-creation?

How can you write your story, and thus yourself, into a refreshed way of being and know that gesture alone creates profound change?

What kinds of communities can hold your whole, beautiful and terrible story without making you wrong? How would it feel to live in and from such a place?

These are some of the questions we will engage with in this free, two-hour gathering. We will be sharing a powerful story along with our own process and revelations about the pure alchemy of writing and how knowing, and using, your voice can reframe, revive, and restore you and the living world around you.

We don’t have all the answers, but we have some. We have invoked, and are living in, the magnificent and often difficult magic of using words, story, and the vibrational power of the voice to heal, create and recreate deeper meaning, and at the core, bring a primal, unshakable trust in life and who we are, especially in the face of uncertainty.

Why We Created this Event

We created this gathering for people, like ourselves, who have stories that need and want to be written, stories that refuse to go away.

We created this for anyone who wants to use writing those stories as a process of deep revelation and guidance for their past, present, and future selves, as well as for others.

We created this for anyone who wants to stop trying to save the whole world and who is ready to listen, learn, and let the frighteningly honest world save them.

We created this for anyone who is exhausted by traditional coaching or self-help models that purport easy answers to the complexity of the time we are living in.

We created this for anyone who wants their voice, their words, their work, their life to represent and express their soul as best as it can.

If this is you, or you aren’t sure, but intuit it might be you, please come!

Please come and bring all of you, bring all of your beckoning uncertainty. We welcome you and would love to have you there!

Samantha Wallen is a writer, writing coach, burgeoning deep ecologist, and poet at heart. She offers transformative writing workshops, group and private coaching programs, and retreats for writers, want-to-be writers, and non-writers alike so they can discover their voice, clarify the deep value, purpose, and focus of their writing, and develop structures for committing to a sustainable and nourishing writing life and practice. Sam’s mission is to restore the soul, one word at a time. Her work centers around what she calls, “Restorative Writing,” which is writing that seeks to connect to the deeper meaning of life. It’s writing that longs to be witnessed and known by others and writing that uses words as a pathway to reach what lives beyond language so that we might bring a deeper understanding of what it means to be human in these strange and unprecedented times.

Debs de Vries is a healer, mentor and soul guide for women in mid-life. She helps women discover and birth their unique wisdom more fully into the world through intimate one-on-one programs, held in the (energetic)  space of “The Temple of Sheba”  She is currently birthing another aspect of her own body of wisdom that focuses on the physical and spiritual relationship between the vulva, the womb, the voice and the creation of healthy, sustainable community.  Debs’ mission is to offer midlife women an environment of ease, wisdom and comfort  in which she  helps  them create holistic, internally focused ‘maps’. Maps that  alchemically and practically make sense and new meaning of old patterns; maps that create powerful, robust frameworks for transitions and show the path to  cross the thresholds of disturbance and stand firmly in the sovereign ground of the second half of life.
